I Love Gold!

Golden Week 2008 WatchesWell, not really, I am more of a titanium and chrome man. But that doesn't mean some of you, my fine, intellectual readers might not want a shiny new gold wristwatch. Like one of those pictured above from Tokyoflash in honor of Golden Week 2008 (A collection of four Japanese national holidays within seven days, April 29, May 3-6). My favorite is the Pimpin' ain't Easy watch, 'cause, you know, it ain't. Now we'll all be taking golden showers. What, what did I say?Golden Week GiveawayAnyway, Tokyoflash is giving you the chance to win one of three great prizes with every order placed during Golden Week. All you have to do is place an order between April 25th and May 7th 2008 for the chance to win. Click here for more info.

Hello Balzac

Balzac x Hello Kitty t-shirtBalzac x Hello Kitty t-shirt
Secret Base has a couple of new Balzac t-shirts [pictured above] in stock featuring everybody's favorite Hello Kitty! This has got to be one of the best Hello Kitty colabs I have ever seen. Hello Kitty looks bad-ass moon-stomping in a Balzac skeleton jumpsuit. Shock and Horror indeed! They can be ordered directly from Secret Base for only ¥5145 or about $49.95 American. Cheap!

Wish I Had Been There

X*pert SoopaBut it was Passover this weekend, and Seth and Leia were in town, and I wouldn't have wanted to miss them hanging out with them. So instead, I missed the Soopa Show at Concrete Jungle in Forest Hills, NYC on Saturday. Luckily, my Soopa didn't miss the show. You can see a picture of it to the left and bigger here, with the rest of Saki's pictures from the show. You can also read a little review of the show here on Saki Wrote What?!! I will post more reviews of the show and information about buying any of the custom Soopa's as soon as I can find them.

Here is another review of the show with more pictures from "His Judeness", Jude Buffum of The Jude Abides.

Adult Swim Toy Day!

Adult Swim FiguresThe day has finally arrived! Today Kidrobot will start selling their new line of Limited Ed. Cartoon Network Adult Swim-themed toys! They come in a blind box assortment and feature all of our favorite Adult Swim characters, but what Mac and I are most excited about are the Squidbillies figures. We are probably going to have to go in together on a couple of cases so that we can get all of them. Kidrobot hasn't made them available on their website yet, but it should be any time now... soon... hopefully.

Update: Available now! Get them before they are gone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEIA!!!

LeiaHey Leia, sorry I haven't gone on a scavenger hunt for things that you would like on the internet in honor of your birthday yet, but I have been super busy at work with the new scheduling/billing system we have just implemented. As soon as I have a little time, this space will be filled with all kinds of cool stuff that I'm sure you will like (or stuff that I like that I think you might like also). Anyway, until then, just know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I will see you tomorrow night.

Dizzy

Ultra Dizign OSKErick Scarecrow of Esc-Toy Ltd. has revealed the first figure in the Old Skool Kaiju series, titled Dizign [pictured above in the "Ultra Dizign" colorway]. This Limited Ed. figure will be available at the NYCC Esc-Toy booth #861 for a retail price of $69.99 and will be limited to 350 pieces. Dizign reminds me of characters from a variety of Anime films. It has that typical big eyes, small mouth, big hands and feet aesthetic of Japanese character design and the bright colors would fit in well in an episode of Speed Racer. Go OSK, Go!

Pink Elephants On Parade

The Elephant King scoreSticking with the animal theme, and promotion (this time not self- but family), here's the score to my bro's movie The Elephant King. It was composed by Adam Balazs and won top honors at the Park City Music in Film Festival, the premiere festival for film composers, and received the first prize for score at the Sacramento Film Festival. It is available now through iTunes or Amazon. The dance hit "Chiang Mai Nights" is also available as a single. After you listen to this score, you will be able to divide your life into the period before you heard it (the empty years) and after you heard it ("Valhalla"). Sweet! Now when is the movie coming out?

Two Cows

Well, my gallery opening at Beth El Synagogue yesterday went quite well. There were close to forty people there and I sold four paintings, which was quite unexpected. In honor of my successful exhibit, I have decided to do a little self-promotion today. I have a new photograph, entitled Two Cows in the Snow [pictured above], available now through Art.com's Artist Rising website for purchase as an 8" x 10" print, either framed or unframed. This is my favorite photograph that I have ever taken. It was taken a few years ago when I was driving home on the back roads between Durham and Chapel Hill and a light dusting of snow began to fall and I just happened to have my camera with me. I just recently found a copy that was high enough resolution to make prints from, so now it is available for all to buy. It is available for $12.99 unframed and the framed costs can vary depending on how you select to frame it. Alright, now that I am done with my self-promotion, check out page fifteen of this English Prep School's newsletter. I know I like toys, but what the hell?

More MPH NYCC Stuff

It seems like NY Comic Con is a bigger deal for the underground toy producers than the NY Toy Fair was. Myplasticheart has another announcement of a new figure:
New York Comic Con 2008 - Gobi Rojo Demonio by Frank Kozik [pictured above]

Continuing our NYCC exclusive releases, art freak Frank Kozik puts his spin on another classic figure from Muttpop's Lucha Libre with his Rojo Demonio version of the Mini Gobi. Gobi carries the same colors as his compadre the Kozik Red Demon and comes packed with double fisted smoking action! This myplasticheart exclusive will be released at New York Comic Con (April 18th - April 20th) and will run you a measley $10. Get your nicotine fix here at myplasticheart.
Only $10! Cheap.

Goodbye Cruel World

Pile of PoopWell, after four years of spending all of my free time, energy and money collecting these ridiculous Limited Ed. toys, sneakers, watches, and t-shirts I have decided to call it quits. Limited Ed. Magazine is done. After 775 posts and over 100,000 page hits, I think it is about time. What's the point, really? Nobody cares. Have I gotten any job offers from it? No. Has anyone offered to buy my blog for $15 million? No. So, I'm done. Time to go cry into my Colt 45. The gun, not the beer. Since it is over, I might as well take it all the way and blow my brains out. Goodbye cruel world, I'm leaving you today. Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. Goodbye, all you people there's nothing you can say to make me change my mind, goodbye.
