Much Respect, Collect Comes Correct

VilmosPaint it BlackBoy Girl by O.ChildrenArbore by Pearl Clarke

I got e-mail from Collect, a newly launched t-shirt label out of London, about their new website featuring their Limited Ed. and finely designed t-shirt line. Collect features three styles of tees for men and women: a plain, single-color tee, which is not limited to a certain number of releases, patterned tees and printed tees, which are each limited to 100 printings of each design. The tees come in three fits: fitted, relaxed and vest (what we here in the states would call a tank-top of wife-beater) for women and slim, regular and relaxed for men. So there are a lot of choices, when you come down to it, but only 100 of each design for the printed and patterned tees.

Now let's see if I can make this any more confusing. If you take the square root of the hypotenuse of the right triangle that is formed by the intersection of the relaxed fit and slim tees in the men's patterned tee style and subtract the circumference of the arm strap of the women's plain vest tee, amazingly, you will come out with your own age! It's just that simple.

Anyway, as you can see from the pictures above, the t-shirts are all real pretty and fancy. The prices range from £20-£45. So not too bad if you live somewhere with a good exchange rate. Hopefully, soon I will be getting a sample t-shirt to do more research on in terms of quality and detail, so that I can add an update to this post with more info. Until then, maybe you might want to go to www.collectlondon.com and check out the shirts yourself. You might even want to buy one. If you do, tell them Limited Ed. sent you. You won't get a discount, but it will make you seem cooler.

I Love Gold!

Gold Alife x Krink t-shirtAlife and Krink strike again with this wicked cool Gold t-shirt/mop marker combo [pictured above and below]. I have always been an abuser of Krink's silver mop marker, but as I said in the post previous to this one, I am a huge fan of the black and gold combo, thus t-shirt, gold marker, me happy, Alife store within easy walking distance. Just got paid, Friday night, got a monkey in my pocket, feeling alright. That shit is available now, but it is pouring down rain out, so I might wait a while to head on down there and check that shit out. Be prepared for some gold BizKwik tags, LA!

R.I.P. ELF

Alife ELF Tribute t-shirt frontAlife ELF Tribute t-shirt back
In memory of Carlucci Bencivenga (April 14, 1969 - September 3, 2007), the graffiti artist known as ELF MPC from the MPC Crew straight outta' Da Bronx, Alife has produced a freakin' sick tribute t-shirt [pictured above]. ELF was an interesting looking cat. Reminds me of my friend Paul from back in the day, also an artist known for his crazy gear and bright colors. According to Alife,
Carl was an endless stream of ideas and inspirations. He has been an inspiration to us and to the entire neighborhood of the Lower East Side ever since he touched down here, years ago.
All proceeds from the sale of the shirt will go to the Bencivenga family. Check out the man and his work, below.ELF MPC Self Portrait

Have You Gone All City?

Alife x MED All City All Stars t-shirt frontAlife x MED All City All Stars t-shirt back
The first time I heard the term "All City" was the first time I saw the movie Style Wars back in the day. If you are not in the know, going all city means that you have bombed all of the train lines in NYC. For those of you who have gone all city, there is now a t-shirt from Alife to let everybody know. Alife's new Limited Ed. All City All Stars t-shirt [pictured above] was designed in collaboration with Tuff City graffiti legend MED. The usual bubbles in the Alife logo have been replaced by MED's iconic stars. The shirt will be dropping this Saturday, June 21st, only at Alife flagship stores and Tuff City in Da Bronx!

Duke Sucks?

Under Crown Duke Suck t-shirtUnder Crown Duke Sucks t-shirt detail

So says Under Crown with their new (ish) t-shirt [pictured above] available now at Pick Your Shoes. As someone who was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, had to decide in kindergarten whether I was a Duke or a Carolina fan (I picked Duke because all of the smart kids were Duke fans and this extremely annoying kid who lived in my neighborhood was a huge Carolina fan), has worked at Duke, had Duke pay my college tuition because my mother worked there for 20-some years and that's what they do for valued employees; I think this t-shirt and the whole sentiment of hating Duke is hilarious.

What, people hate Duke because they are good at basketball? Because they win games (and the occasional tournament)? Or do people hate Duke because they are an extremely competitive school with a great academic reputation? Maybe they hate Duke because they have one of the best medical centers in the country and they are jealous? That's a good reason to hate them, right? I know Duke didn't do too well this year in the NCAA tournament, which everyone here in Chapel Hill is loving, but why so much hatred for them outside of North Carolina? I guess people just hate them because Coach K looks like a constipated rat. And that's a great, extremely shallow reason to hate a university. Good job, folks! Now how do I mark this post so people realize I am being sarcastic?

Bring on the comment backlash, bitches!
