I Love Gold!

Gold Alife x Krink t-shirtAlife and Krink strike again with this wicked cool Gold t-shirt/mop marker combo [pictured above and below]. I have always been an abuser of Krink's silver mop marker, but as I said in the post previous to this one, I am a huge fan of the black and gold combo, thus t-shirt, gold marker, me happy, Alife store within easy walking distance. Just got paid, Friday night, got a monkey in my pocket, feeling alright. That shit is available now, but it is pouring down rain out, so I might wait a while to head on down there and check that shit out. Be prepared for some gold BizKwik tags, LA!

If I Was In New York

Krink Air Force 1Krink Air Force 1

This weekend I would head down to the Alife Rivington Club and pick up a pair of Krink Air Force 1's. These things are fuckin' sweet! I love the drips and the 3M reflective material. Unfortunately, they are not available at the Alife stores in LA... yet. I am a huge fan of Krink's markers and mops. I have been destroying the dumpsters, newspaper dispensers and electric boxes out here with them. Mmmmm... silvery goodness. If only I could do it wearing the matching sneakers! That would be RADICAL!!! Anyway, if you are in NYC this weekend, and are cool, pick up a pair. I'm sure there will be a line. I'm not sure if they will be available anywhere else, but if they are, I'm totally there.

This morning at work, my boss yelled, "SHREDDER!!!"

Also, check out Allen Spector's new pictures of Chinatown. They are pretty sweet like green tea roasted duck. Yum!

Update: I just rode my bike past the Nike Theater on Hollywood and Vine and the Krink AF1's will also be premiering there on Saturday. I will try to brave the lines if I can (if Anne doesn't tie me to the radiator to keep me away).

I Am Dead

Tagged Newspaper Box

But only on the inside. On the outside, I am still going through the motions. Existing, but hardly living. To get any thrill in life, I have been tagging the hell out of Los Angeles. For example, the image above, of a tag I did across the street from the famous Vista Theater. I have decided to take pictures of them all, before they are gone, like the one I did down the street from The Hundreds, Alife, Supreme, Turntable Lab, and Huf on Fairfax Ave. Oh yeah, there is a new Alife store opening on Cahuenga near the corner of Sunset. It is opening right next to Space15Twenty. I was driving past before the Alife crew had gotten all of the butcher paper over the windows and noticed they had a huge Marcel Duchamp urinal in the middle of the space. Fuckin' awesome! I wish I had gotten a picture. Anyway, they haven't sent out an e-mail about the opening yet, so I don't have any info, but I am going to try to get out there for that shit and take some pictures for y'all. Now I gotta' go to dinner at Anne's boss' house.

Hot Shades

black Alife Super sunglassesAlife has got some hot new Limited Ed. shades coming out this Saturday, August 23rd, in collaboration with Italian sunglasses manufacturer RetroSuperFuture (terrible website, btw). I like all of them, but would probably only wear the black ones [pictured above], 'cuz I'm ol' skool like dat. Very similar to Ray Ban's Wayfarer design. Which they had all of the new styles of in bunches at Kicks Sole Provider. They are $103 a pair down there, though, which is out of my price range. I'm not sure how much the Alife Super sunglasses will cost, but I do know that they are hand-made in Italy, feature Carl Zeiss lenses and are limited to 480 pairs, 80 in each color. They will be available at all of the Alife stores as well as Colette and the following retailers:

USA:

Atlanta, Georgia: Standard
Boston, Massachussets: Bodega
Chicago, Illinois: Leaders
Dallas, Texas: Adikt
Jersey City & Teaneck, New Jersey: Packers
Orlando, Florida: Beta
Las Vegas, Nevada: Epic
Seattle, Washington: Goods

International:

Amsterdam, Holland: Patta
Barcelona, Spain: Limited Edition (copycats)
Mexico City, Mexico: Headquarter
Milan, Italy: Slam Jam
Moscow, Russia: Kixbox
Singapore: Black Chamber
Stockholm, Sweden: Cali Roots

I'm gonna' have to go to Alife in LA on Saturday to check out the hoop-la. In the meantime, check out the other colors that will be available, below.Red Alife Super sunglasses

Q-Tip What Ya' Want The Mike For

Tribe Called Quest lyricsAlife has got a bangin' new Limited Ed. The tee will be available at each of the concert venues and in limited numbers at the various Alife stores starting tomorrow, July 22nd. Q-Tip's new album, The Renaissance, will be in stores soon.Alife Q-Tip lyrics tee front black

R.I.P. ELF

Alife ELF Tribute t-shirt frontAlife ELF Tribute t-shirt back
In memory of Carlucci Bencivenga (April 14, 1969 - September 3, 2007), the graffiti artist known as ELF MPC from the MPC Crew straight outta' Da Bronx, Alife has produced a freakin' sick tribute t-shirt [pictured above]. ELF was an interesting looking cat. Reminds me of my friend Paul from back in the day, also an artist known for his crazy gear and bright colors. According to Alife,
Carl was an endless stream of ideas and inspirations. He has been an inspiration to us and to the entire neighborhood of the Lower East Side ever since he touched down here, years ago.
All proceeds from the sale of the shirt will go to the Bencivenga family. Check out the man and his work, below.ELF MPC Self Portrait

Have You Gone All City?

Alife x MED All City All Stars t-shirt frontAlife x MED All City All Stars t-shirt back
The first time I heard the term "All City" was the first time I saw the movie Style Wars back in the day. If you are not in the know, going all city means that you have bombed all of the train lines in NYC. For those of you who have gone all city, there is now a t-shirt from Alife to let everybody know. Alife's new Limited Ed. All City All Stars t-shirt [pictured above] was designed in collaboration with Tuff City graffiti legend MED. The usual bubbles in the Alife logo have been replaced by MED's iconic stars. The shirt will be dropping this Saturday, June 21st, only at Alife flagship stores and Tuff City in Da Bronx!

Purple Dinosaur Shoes

Alife has teamed up with Barney's, the upscale clothing store, not the purple dinosaur beloved by children, for a new set of kicks inspired by the all-American baseball catcher's mitt. The Soft Hand pack will be available at Barney's New York locations nationwide. And online here. Finally, shoes from Alife that I would actually wear!

Yeah, Whatever

Alife Dawn til Dusk t-shirt
Alife Dr. Revolt t-shirt
Alife Voodoo t-shirtSorry about my lackadaisical posting lately. I have been very busy in my non-blog life with a new toy design to be revealed soon, an exhibit of my artwork going up on March 3rd and my birthday on March 6th. So I haven't really had time to post anything. Not to mention, nothing has really sparked my imagination and interest recently. I do like a few of the new Alife Spring t-shirts that were just announced yesterday. My favorites are the Dawn til Dusk [pictured above, top], Dr. Revolt [above, middle] and Voodoo [above, bottom] tees. I like the Dawn til Dusk and Dr. Revolt tees because of the nice landscapes that each of them feature. Each will run ya' only $40 and telephone orders are accepted in NYC at 212-375-8116, in LA at 323-655-2093 or in Vancouver, BC at 604-685-6400, so get yours quickly before they all disappear.

I'm A Lumberjack And I'm Okay

Alife Everybody High Lumberjack PackI sleep all night and I work all day. I wear Alife Everybody High Lumberjack Pack sneakers [pictured above], I skip and jump, I go to the lavatory. On Wednesday I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea!

Just in time for Wintry weather (if you live somewhere other than North Cackalacka, where today it is supposed to get up to almost 80 degrees), Alife has released their 2007 Holiday Footwear. Included in the release are the Lumberjack Pack, Rain Pack and Ski Pack [pictured below, top to bottom]. They will be available not only at Alife stores, but also at American Rag, Barneys, Bloomingdales, Fred Segal, Conveyor, and Commonwealth. Telephone orders will also be accepted by Alife. This is one of my favorite sneaker releases so far from Alife. I like all of them! They would all be great for the situations that they are named after. I would have a hard time if I had to decide which of them I wanted. Luckily, at $125 to $145 each, I can't afford any of them, so I won't be getting any!Alife Everybody Low Lumberjack PackAlife Everybody High Rain PackAlife Everybody Flood Ski PackAlife Everybody Flood Ski Pack

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Green Monster Asics x Alife Gel Lyte IIIBlack Lagoon Asics x Alife Gel Lyte III

New Limited Ed. Asics x Alife Gel Lyte III "Alife are Monsters" kicks will go on sale this Saturday, October 27th, exclusively at Alife BC, LA and NY. Available in both Green Monster [pictured above, left] and Black Lagoon [above, right], both colors feature a split tongue, removable eyeballs, a printed midsole and custom footbeds. Limited quantities will also be available online at www.alifenyc.com. The matching t-shirts [pictured below] will be available in-store only. The kicks will run ya' 2 bills, but the t's are only 40 beans. These are some pretty sick Halloween swag. I can't decide which I like better. The Green Monsters are amazing, bold and bright while the Black Lagoons have a nice toned-down, late-night vibe. I am a big fan of red laces, so I like that aspect of both sets. I also like the laid-back looking eyeballs that contrast the menacing grin printed on the midsole. If I had the money, I would buy two pairs of each. One set to rock this Halloween; the Green Monsters during the day and the Black Lagoons at night, and one set to put on ice for future trick-or-treating.Alife Eye of the Monster t-shirts

Papa's Got A Brand New Hat

Alife Antique A hatAlife has got a couple of new Limited Ed. New Era fitted caps in stock. They are available in store and by phone. My favorites are the Oversize Antique 'A' in red [pictured above, $50] and the Stuck Up All-Over in Yellow [pictured below, $60]. I like the red 'cause it matches my blog and I like the yellow 'cuz it reminds me of a Vision Street Wear fanny pack that I used to rock all of my paraphernalia in back in the 80's. I hate the term "fanny pack". It sounds like something an old lady would wear. Which is basically what it became. I'm sure it would have been a lot more popular with the cool kids if it had a cool name like "hip pack" or "stash pack". Anyway, that has nothing to do with Alife's hats. Which are cool and will be rocked by the likes of Mos Def (seen sporting an Alife t-shirt on Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO) and will never be worn by old ladies.Alife Stuck Up All-Over hat

Is Winter Here Already?

Alife TimsAlife Tims
I woke up this morning freezin' my balls off. It wasn't really that cold, 68 degrees in my apartment, but I had left my windows open last night because it was so nice out and so Kallie could come in and out, and there was a chilly wind that gave me a little bit of a sniffle this morning.

It seems that Alife has decided it is cold enough to announce some winter weather gear already. They have collaborated with Timberland on some new Limited Ed. Wheat Work Boots [pictured above]. I have never really been a big fan of Timberland or their work boots. Personally, I prefer a nice pair of Vasque Sundowners. They are better constructed and last longer. Of course, they don't have the Alife stamp of approval to make them so much more valuable. The Tims will be available starting this Saturday, September 22nd at 11am exclusively at Alife stores for $200.

Alife also has some puffy Penfield Walkabout jackets [pictured below, left] with matching stuff sacks [pictured below, right] that will be available exclusively at the Rivington Club starting on Saturday. If I didn't already have a puffy winter jacket I might be tempted to get the black one when I am up in NYC this weekend, but I'm not really feeling the red or purple version. The ladies may feel different about the purple version, but you gotta' be a special kind of freak to rock that shiny red puffy jacket. Also, I can't really afford $250 for a new winter coat right now. Maybe in a few months when it really starts getting cold. Of course, by then these will be gone.

Round One

Alife has just collaborated with Puma on a classic Limited Ed. First Round NY high top basketball sneaker from the Puma archive [pictured below]. The Alife version is executed in premium Nubuck with a tonal gloss print. They are produced in both white and black; both colors feature a custom woven label on the tongue, four different fluorescent patent leather stripes, custom footbeds and ten pairs of laces: five thin and five fatty laces. They will be available starting this Saturday, August 18th, at ten locations worldwide: the Alife stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Vancouver; Slammin' Kicks in London, Patta in Amsterdam, Colette in Paris; Black Chamber in Singapore; Highs and Lows in Perth and Provider in Melbourne, Australia. According to the e-mail it seems that you will also be able to get them from the Rivington Club website, but that information has yet to be substantiated. Check the website on Saturday to find out. Until then, you can just look at all the pretty pictures.
