Hey Mr. DJ

Equalizer BPM watchPut a record on, I want to dance with my baby. And now I can tap out on my watch how many beats per minute the song I'm dancing to contains. Or at least I could if I had the new Limited Ed. Equalizer BPM DJ watch from Tokyoflash. The BPM watch has quite a few features built into it. It displays both the date and time, has a mini-torch built in (a flashlight for us folks here in the states) and of course the "Beats Per Minute" feature with scrolling messages (such as "The roof is on fire!" and "They're working up a sweat!") to get you in the mood for your next mix. To use the BPM function, press the central D button for a moment and then tap the button to the rhythm of the beat. You only need to tap five times for the BPM meter to work. The only downside to this watch is it is too easy to read. Unlike all of the other watches available at Tokyoflash, this watch shows the time in a basic numerical format. No binary, crazy LED's or special codes to decipher in order to determine the time. I mean, what fun is that. Oh yeah, and if you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic there. I really like this watch. And at only $65, it is pretty darn affordable, too. Seems cool to me.

They've Done It Again

Shinshoku Watch
Tokyoflash is up to their old tricks again, releasing a completely illegible watch, this time to coincide with an update to their website. Their website is a little cleaner, a little faster and hopefully a lot easier to use. I think it looks very nice and clean. Anyway, back to the important stuff, the new watch is called Shinshoku and is a uni-band style LED watch. It features a continuous stainless steel band that wraps around your wrist with a matrix of punched out holes. Beneath the surface are 29 super bright LED's which illuminate to indicate the time. There are three styles available; one with multi-colored LED's, one with green LED's and one with red LED's. Here's what Tokyoflash has to say about it:
The watch's LED's animate in a cascade effect when showing the time. (Button B skips the animation & jumps straight to the time)

On the multi-color LED model the red lights (12) indicate the hour, the green (3) indicate 15 minutes each & the Yellow (14) are 1 minute each. By telling the time in this way it makes it very easy to see if its roughly quarter-past, half-past or quarter-to the hour. With each green LED worth 15 mins; then 2 lit equals 30 mins.
(The time on the watch image above is 9:37)
That makes sense, right? Anyway, this nice piece of wrist weight will run you $114.05, but it is definitely worth it for all of the attention you will receive. And remember, free shipping on all orders over ¥10,000!

Flash In The Pants

Coffee Art 8 Elite watchMarble Art 8 Elite watch

My favorite online watch store, Tokyflash has some new suprisingly non-LED watches available that are pretty swank. The new Limited Ed. Art 8 Elite Resin Watches from EleeNo are part of the Orbit Series Elite, the premium quality edition of the popular handless watches from EleeNo. These custom-made watches feature solid stainless steel construction, stunning resin inlays and highly accurate Super 2035 movement produced by Citizen Japan. The watch comes in two styles: Coffee [pictured above, left], featuring brown resin inlay, and Marble [pictured above, right], featuring a dark marbled resin inlay. These watches are only available from Tokyoflash and will run you ¥16800 or $138.84 American.

Martians!

Biohazard Watch by Tokyoflash
Prepare for invasion! The Aliens are coming! Luckily, the Biohazard Watch from Tokyoflash can detect the presence of Alien DNA, making it much easier to eliminate them with extreme prejudice! Just like those Ray Bans from They Live!
With the threat of Alien Invasion growing ever closer & the distinct possibility that "they" are already here, it's about time we had a device to detect the humans from the human-oids.

The Biohazard wrist scanner probes the immediate vicinity for Alien DNA & displays the results so that you may assess the threat level.
Pretty sweet looking watch, but nearly impossible to read the time on. Just check out the screen shot from the manual [below]. Definitely a conversation starter, and for a mere $138.26, not a wallet buster, either. With the holidays coming up, this might even just make a great stocking stuffer.

I Pooped My Pants

X LED Watch by XimaxSticking to the gastrointestinal disfunktitude theme, I think I just crapped myself. I thought it was going to be a fart, but it wasn't. And I am stuck at the front desk today because Crystal the Kooky Cracker is out at a conference. I don't know how much longer I can sit here like this, stewing in my own filth. I guess long enough to mention the new Limited Ed. X LED Watch by Ximax available at Tokyoflash [pictured left]. It appears to be one of the easiest to read LED watches on Tokyoflash. It actually shows the time, not just some random grouping of LED's that you would need a master's degree in computer engineering to interpret. It also displays the date and plays a neat little animation with the button push. It features a stainless steel caseback and either a black or white leather-esque band. Also, with each order from Tokyoflash from now until 9:00am Japan Time on December 22nd, you will be entered into the Tokyoflash Christmas Giveaway! One grand prize winner will walk away with a brand new Playstation 3 and two games (Resistance: Fall of Man & Ridgeracer7). Ten second prize winners will each receive a Tokyoflash watch of their choice. What could be better than that? Buy one watch, possibly get one free. Or even better... a Playstation 3! Now I am going to go scoop out my drawers (dirty). Wish me luck!

Spikey Watch

Pink Sandy Tokidoki watchI was checking out the Tokidoki website and noticed that they have recently added some really cool watches to their repertoire. To go along with the spikey cuteness of their Cactus Friends, they have a pink Sandy watch. I really appreciate the way Tokidoki has combined cuteness with some hard-core punk aesthetics in their designs. Tough but cute with the heart and crossbones above Sandy's head.
