Travelling Malc

               

I just received an e-mail from one of 301 Film's cohorts, Malcolm McLean, about a new television program that he is working on called Random 1 on A&E starting Tuesday, November 1^st at 10pm. Here's what A&E has to say about the show:

Breathing real life into the Good Samaritan, RANDOM 1 features a feisty, passionate crew who scout the streets of America looking for people who need help solving everyday problems. On each one-hour show, the team finds a way to give two strangers a special "nudge," a helpful push in a life-changing direction. Sometimes it works. Sometimes, everyone is surprised. Malcolm describes the show as, "Wierd, wacky and wild," and with him on board, I'm sure it will be. It's just too bad he's going to be behind the camera and not in front of it.

BTW: That is the only picture of Malcolm I could find on the web. It is from Rainy Storm, in which he plays a blood-spewing vampire. He's the one on the left. Hmmm... maybe I should have posted this one on the 301 Films Blog. Oh well. Sorry Malcolm.

For Sister Sunny Love

Sorry for no posts yesterday y'all, but I was laid-up in bed with food poisoning. My advice; never eat hot dogs that have been in your refrigerator longer than you can remember. Even if they are Hebrew Nationals, the best hot dogs you can buy. First off, our friends at Cool Hunting have a link to this adorable Camo Doggielounge by Fatboy:

          

This would be perfect for Mike's dog, Sister Sunny Love, who can be entertained for hours by pointing a laser pointer at her doggie bed. Would she be able to find the laser in a camo doggie bed? Only Questo Design, who sells the Doggielounge online, knows for sure. You know I like anything with the word Fatboy on it.

Second, our "friend" Josh Spear had a post on his cool hunter blog about a month ago that I somehow missed about an amazing new Limited Ed. product called Bong Vodka:

                    

I'm not sure if this is a working bong or if the bottle is just shaped like one, but it looks like it has a stopper in the front that might be removable so that you can put a slide and bowl in there. Anyway, Bong Vodka will make it's US debut in November in the Florida market only. It will be available in other states starting in January 2006. Each bottle is individually numbered to insure collectibility. I just hope I remember to pick up a bottle before they are all gone. Stupid short term memory.

Sneaker Pimps Auction

          

Freshness Mag has links to three auctions on eBay for items donated from the Sneaker Pimps 2005 exhibition tour. The first is a one-of-a-kind painting by Dave White of an Adidas MicroPacer shoe, next is a pair of custom, Limited Ed. Meth Nike Blazers and the last one is a pair of custom, Limited Ed. SBTG Nike Dunk Hi-tops. My favorites are the Meth Blazers, but unfortunately they are a size 8 1/2, which is way too small for me to wear. The Dunks would probably fit me, because they are a size 11, which is still a little too small, but I don't like the look of them. I really don't like the velcro strap that goes over the laces. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to forsake the victims of Hurricane Katrina, who are receiving the proceeds from these auctions, and wait for the next Sneaker Pimps auction, if there is one.

For The Ladies

Every once in a while I guess I have to post something for all of the ladies out there that read my blog. Both of you will probably find this amusing and entertaining. Or you will think that I am a sexist pig and you will want to castrate me the next time we meet. Anyway, I was checking out Bombing Science, the online store for all graffiti supplies, when I discovered this Limited Ed. Avive Women's t-shirt:

          

These shirts are limited to only 37 so get them while they're hot. The Bombing Science graffiti shop has plenty of cool clothes for chicks that you can check out here, like this Triple 5 Soul blazer and this cute Fafi mini-skirt; tres chic! I know someone whose birthday is coming up soon who might just get a cute little Limited Ed. Fafi shirt or an Upper Playground hoodie (or something else if she disapproves of my selections).

What kind of world are we living in when Playmobil®, a company known for it's child-friendly toys, starts producing toys like this Airport Security Check-in:

               

What does this teach kids? "See, Johnny, the man is getting pulled out of line and randomly strip-searched because he is wearing a turban on his head. Isn't that silly? Don't they know he's Sikh?" Or maybe it teaches kids that boredom can be fun! Standing in line, yippee! I think this toy is more for adults, like a voodoo doll for revenge on those ridiculously slow and ill-tempered airport security personnel. You bend over! Let's see how this feels! I guess it kind of goes along with the theme of the Playmobil® HAZMAT Crew, Operating Room and Port-a-potty. Kids gotta' learn somehow. Accidents do happen.

Short Weekend

        
Ever since I got a job, my weekends seem to go by so fast. I guess when I'm not working, everyday is like a Sunday. Yesterday was very much like a Sunday because I watched football all day. This morning was very much like a Monday because I didn't want to get up and go to work... and because it was Monday. I thought about calling in sick this morning, but then I remembered that I might want to call in sick on Friday so that I can go to the State Fair with my girlfriend, who will be on fall break, on a weekday when it won't be so crowded. So here I am at work, farting up a storm, trying to avoid actually doing anything until after lunch. I feel like Ron Livingston's character, Peter, in Office Space. Anyway, Assault! Design has redesigned their website. Apparently it is now easier to navigate. The old one wasn't difficult to maneuver, but I guess change is the new constant. Well, that's all for now. Now back to farting.

Don't Effigies Usually Burn?

Holden is an Australian car company. Who knew they made cars in Australia? Oh yeah, I forgot about Mad Max. That movie had plenty of crazy Aussie cars in it. Not to be outdone, Holden unleashes this super-sleek concept built on a Corvette underbody with a six-litre, supercharged aluminum LS2 V8 under the hood. With 645 bhp, that's a lot of power for a car with a fiberglass body. This ride is retro-futuristic cool at its best. Now I just need one that flies.

I can always count on Tokyo Flash for a little morning inspiration. This time it comes in the form of the Limited Ed. Morse Code Audio watch by Morse:

                            

This is probably the most difficult watch to tell time on that Tokyo Flash has offered up to this point. Fortunately, it has three modes for telling time. An audio mode in which the watch beeps the time in Morse code, a visual mode which shows the time in Morse code using the watch's numerous LEDs, and another visual mode which shows the time in the regular, digital format. I like the fact that the quote above, from Tokyo Flash's website, has the time as 4:21. Only a minute late! Isn't that just the story of my life.

Sorry for no posts yesterday, it was Yom Kippur, so I was fasting and praying all day. S'lach lo-nu.

iPod Video, iPod Video, iPOD VIDEO!!!

Here's the link to Engadget's coverage of Steve Jobs' keynote address. They have already shown the new iPod with video capabilities, which is being called, simply, "The iPod." Here's an advance picture:



Details: 30 and 60 GB versions, 0.44 inches thick, 260,000 color 2.5 inch display, QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels), support for MPEG-4 and H.264 at 30 fps, TV out, both white and black versions, and shipping next week! Yeah, I gotta' get me one of these. But first I have to get a napkin to wipe up all of this drool.

Most Fun Toy Ever!

                               

While we are all sitting around anxiously awaiting the announcement from Apple this afternoon about what the future holds, I thought I would post about the next most funnest toy there ever could be. It's Log, it's Log, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood! Well, it's actually plastic made to look like wood, and it is available here at Kidrobot. What could be more fun to do while waiting for your video iPod to arrive than play with Log? Fun for a girl or dog, everyone loves a Log!
