What Happened To Tuesday?

Does anyone know where Tuesday went? I know it was around here somewhere. I'm pretty sure I saw it at one point yesterday, but I really don't remember. Everything is a whirl of a blur. It's like when I flew to Australia and crossed the international date line and it was Monday when I left and Wednesday when I arrived. Tuesday was lost somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. Same sort of thing here, but without the enjoyment of being cooped up in a plane for twenty-four hours with that nasty recirculated air and some old lady making horrible smells sitting next to me.

Anyway, I know I was planning on looking for something interesting today, but instead I came up with this, customhardhats.com: Hard Hats Come Alive! Bring your hard hats to life with eye-catching designs and vibrant colors. That's right, custom hard hats! Why? Because there are workers installing new stone tiles on the balcony outside of my office right now and they are making a horrible racket and, coincidentally, wearing hard hats. They are constantly bringing huge stone tiles through my office and distracting me from this, my distraction from actual work. I would be so much happier if they were wearing these Western Outlaw hard hats:

Or maybe one from the Freedom Series:

They include American, Canadian and Mexican patriotic freedom hard hats, but where are the Iraqi Freedom hard hats?

Personally, I have a special affinity for these custom multi-sport helmets because of the many head injuries I have suffered skateboarding and BMX biking. What skateboarder could resist this Dale Earnhardt, Jr. helmet?

And what freestyle BMX'er worth his salt could walk away from a Pittsburgh Steelers helmet?

Not me, that's for sure. Especially since after all of my injuries I can barely walk at all.

Limited Ed. Out The Wazoo!

There are several Limited Ed. items to report today. First, as reported by i4u news and Wrist Dreams, there's this especially cool new Limited Ed. XYZ Wired Hoshina Ichiro Wrist Watch:

Limited to only 100 in quantity and already sold-out to distributors, this watch is part of a new series of watches by Seiko called the XYZ Wired watches that are only available in Japan. None of them are even being exported by internet sellers. They aren't even available on eBay!

The next new Limited Ed. device out there is this Samsung Olympic Gold Phone:

Reported by Gizmodo and Josh Rubin this phone is limited to only 1000, is being auctioned online, and has already sold for around $12,000. Retarded!

You know, I thought that I had found more Limited Ed. stuff this morning, but I must have been hallucinating or something. Stupid Transformus flashbacks.

New Michael Lau Exhibit

I just received word from our friend Julian at W.H.Y. Workshop that there's a new exhibit coming up at Michael Lau's gallery SIXS August 20-22. From this postcard for the show:

It looks like M.L. will be releasing a 6" version of Gardener #70, Stereo:

The Art of Michael Lau fansite, the Kidrobot discussion board and the Ningyoushi forum also have information on the exhibit, which means that I am a late-ass slacker as usual with the info.

No Gnus Is Good Gnus

Sorry, nothing to report today. Why don't you go over to Todd Bush's Transformus website and take a look at some dirty hippies that someone other than I took pictures of. Was that last sentence grammatically correct at all? Is anything I write really grammatically correct? At least they have a spell checker on blogger, but I never actually use it. Anyway, you can see a picture of my hat and shoulder in the bottom right-hand corner of picture number DSC_9646.jpg on Todd's site! I didn't make it into any of the other pictures because I guess I don't look like enough of a freak. Aww... too bad. Next year: more glowing crap!

On a little side note, this is the site of someone with the same first name as me that I found while looking for "glowing crap" on Google. In fact, I think he is me! Scary.

The Most Expensive Watch In The World

So that last post got me thinking; what is the most expensive watch in the world? There is some debate on this subject. According to tyler-adam.com:
There is a company in Switzerland by the name of Chopard that exhibited, not too long ago, what is supposed to be the most expensive watch in the world. Here is what it contains. First there are three heart-shaped diamonds. The Pink Heart Diamond weighs 15 carats. The Blue Heart Diamond weighs 12 carats. And the White Heart Diamond weighs 11 carats.

Now then...for many of us this would be sufficient. After all...thirty eight carats of fancy cut and fancy color...that's not bad. Right? Wrong! These three colorful heart shapes are set in a bracelet encrusted with more white and yellow fancy shaped diamonds which make up little flowers in design. Total weight of these little doo-dads..163 carats. We are now talking over 200 carats of diamonds in white and fancy colors.
And how much does this little bauble run? TWENTY-FIVE MILLION DOLLARS according to tyler-adams. I tried to find information on the Chopard website about this one-of-a-kind piece, but alas, it was so hard to navigate that I just gave up. I did, however, find this picture and all the specs for this gaudy, ugly-ass watch on the Chopard Forum Discussion Board:

Now then, back to the controversy. According to an article in The Observer, UK News:
The most expensive watch in the world was the Ulysse Nardin 'Genghis Khan' Westminster Tourbillon, which will set the wearer back £400,000. It has tiny, movable, hand-carved Genghis Khan figures on a black onyx dial and a four-gong timing mechanism. Just 30 will be made in the next five years.
It's not as expensive as the rumored Chopard, but it is apparently available for public purchase, which the Chopard is not.

However, according to The Purists the 1979 Vacheron & Constantin Kallista is the most expensive watch in the world at five million dollars. Hmmm... still not as expensive as the Chopard, though. And the controversy continues!

Stupid Expensive Watch

Who in their right mind would buy something this stupid expensive? This Limited Ed. Rare Breguet "Souscription" Watch set:

Is very beautiful, but who can afford $169,999.00 for a watch these days? Sure, it comes with both a wrist and a pocket watch, not to mention a tool kit for any repair work that you might have to do on your own watch. But if you can afford the watch, are you really going to be doing your own repair work on it? It also comes with a walnut collector's case. Man, I love walnut! I still can't afford it, though. And apparently the price was just reduced for a blowout sale. How about this: blow it out your ass! According to Club Radiant:
The Souscription originated in 1794, when Abraham Louis BREGUET made a Limited Series of Pocket Watches that were sold by a particular method in which a deposit was made at the moment of reservation and the balance was paid at the time of delivery of the watches... Ingenious self financing system for time.
This one is obviously a reproduction of the original, which probably no longer exists, or is in a museum, and is probably worth about as much as this one, if not more.

Hey Look...

More new toys! I randomly found these crazy 12" figures while I was searching for stuff for my last post. First off, there's this Pot Head figure:

And then there's this 12 Oz Vandal figure:

Both of these figures were hand made by Los Angeles artist and DJ Shiro Fujioka. Fujioka has been called the next Michael Lau or Jason Siu because of his work with both two and three dimensional media. According to a press release on PR Web Fujioka and his business partner S.D. Magallanes are launching a new auction website dedicated to, "graffiti writers, street skaters, action figure and comic book collectors, Hip-Hop and Indie Rock connoisseurs, and vinyl junkies." The website is supposed to be at www.audibleauctions.net, but when I tried to go there I got an error message saying the site could not be found. You can check out some of Shiro's other work at 200 Proof Magazine and at the Vinyl Killers Shop. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find his website, if he has one. If anyone has any more information about him, I would enjoy seeing it.

New Toys!

Because I spent nearly three hundred dollars on music and camping equipment for the Transformus Festival this past weekend, I won't be purchasing any of these new toys. But for those of you out there who won't be living off of Raman noodles and microwave burritos for the next month or so, here's some fun stuff to spend your hard-earned dough on. First of all, our good friend Julian at W.H.Y. Workshop has this new Limited Ed. Bathing Ape x Clot (Juice) Edison 12" figure:

Julian also has some other nice, interesting stuff worth taking a look at.

Also, check out the new color version of the Limited Ed. Brothersfree Tank Hood Figure:

I have bought items from Pop Salute in the past, and I know they are a reputable e-bay dealer. What I really want to know is who is this guy?

Hopefully he won't be available for several months so I have time to save up enough money to purchase him for my ridiculously ever-expanding collection.

Ugliest Car Ever

Leave it to the Germans to make a car this ridiculously ugly. The die-cast car maker Vitesse, now owned by the Sun Star Group, produced this 1/43 scale Limited Ed. reproduction of the 1960 Messerschmitt KR200:

According to the Microcar Museum:
In 1952, Prof. Willy Messerschmitt needed a project to keep his RSM division busy, and a timely visit by his former employee Fritz Fend with a concept for a tandem two-seat vehicle resulted in a deal being struck. By the summer of 1952 a prototype was ready. Called Fend Kabinenroller FK-150, it included all the elements of the first production Messerschmitts except for the plexi dome made up of several pieces, and the 150cc motor.
The first production models had a lot of flaws, not the least of which being its sheer ugliness. In terms of teenie-weenie cars, the Messerschmitt is no where near as cute as this Limited Ed. 1967 Mini Cooper Silver Bullet:

I don't know if it is the fact that the designer of the Mini and I share the same first name or if it is the cute girl that is pictured with this car or maybe that there were only 500 of the Silver Bullets made, but I want one!

I have spent most of the day today figuring out what RSS is and adding it to my site. Now you too can get daily updates of the stupid crap that I post! Just check the links at the bottom of my sidebar.

Transformus, More Than Eats Your Mind!

There were plenty of Autoerotibots and hardly any Decepticraps at the first annual Transformus Music & Art Festival in Deerfields, NC this past weekend. Here are some pictures of the craziness:

It sure was a whole lot of fun. There was a lot of nudity, both good and bad. I hardly slept a bit. I spent my time swinging off of the rope swing into the lake, swimming, lounging in the sun, eating delicious Panang sausage with rice and beans, playing drums, walking around carrying heavy equipment, trying to avoid the rain, and trying to freak out the freaks with my microphone and new Roland Micro Cube:

I carried it around using batteries and made my voice sound very devilish so that I could blast at people such loving quotes as, "Satan wants to eat your soul!" and "You will all burn in the fiery pits of hell!" The Project Daedalus performace Sunday at three in the morning went off with barely a hitch. Unfortunately, there were no turntables on the main stage, so Ryan was reduced to playing one of my keyboards through the above mentioned Micro Cube. Fortunately, we met a guy who had one of these Roland HPD-15 Drum Pads:

He provided the beats for our ambient stew. We achieved my desired result for our performance, which was to entice the hippies with some sensual sounds, then slowly get very dark and evil and scare them all off. Silly hippies, so easily manipulated. It was a fun and exhausting event and I can hardly wait for it again next year.

I apologize for the lack of Limited Ed. content in this post.
