Hollow Weenies

Kidrobot 15 KidreaperMan, I am so mature. Anyway, it has been a while since I was really excited about anything Kidrobot was doing, other than a moderate interest in The Simpsons figures and the Adult Swim mini figures, but I do get excited when they put out a new Kidrobot figure, especially one associated with Halloween. I have a few of the early Kidrobot figures and I just might have to add this Kidrobot 15 Kidreaper figure [pictured above] to my collection. I haven't bought any toys since I have been in LA and there are several toy stores here! Creatures in My Head creator Andrew Bell is responsible for this little bit of awesomeness. He will be in New York for its release tomorrow, October 16th, and then in Chicago the next day, signing autographs and living the jet set lifestyle. The figure glows in the dark and apparently there is a chase figure out there for some lucky person. I am going to try to make it out to the LA Kidrobot store tomorrow and pick one up. Just $50. Gotta' keep the economy strong!

To Infinity And Beyond!

Snakes of Infinity Halloween setSuper7 just announced their Halloween set for this year. The Snakes of Infinity Halloween set includes four figures, [three pictured above], cast in beautiful clear orange vinyl with black and silver spray. "Complete the set, and the fifth figure is on the (haunted) house!" One will be released each Saturday in October. I am really looking forward to October 4th when the first figure is released. I wonder which one it will be?

You Want It MF?! You Got It!!!

I just got e-mail from Michael over at Wootini, who I have missed getting e-mails from over the last couple of months, letting me know that they will be having a new show going up tonight, Friday, October 12th at 7:00pm. The show is by artists Martina and Frank Russo of MF Gallery in New York City. New York City?! It must be good! The show will run through November 6th. Here's the press release from Wootini:
Martina Secondo Russo and Frank Russo of MF Gallery in Manhattan, NY are bringing down a visual onslaught of art that is sure to horrify the weak and tickle the fancies of the bold. If you're a fan of Zombies, Monsters, GWAR, Metal, Sideshow Freaks or Horror Flicks, know this: these two are the East Coast's masters. They have endlessly and successfully shown some of the best art having anything to do with the pulp-monster universe that your fangs so fiercely crave.
Sounds perfect for this time of year, what with Halloween quickly creeping up ("quickly creeping", is that an oxymoron?). "Family" will be providing the deep grooves and there will be treats, as usual. I will be there in my scariest Halloween costume: my own face!!!

Spooky!

Halloween Adidas Superstar 2Glow-in-the-dark Nike Dunk Hi-topsHalloween Nike Blazers

Just in time for Halloween, all of my favorite sneaker companies are releasing special Halloween editions of their kicks. And Pick Your Shoes has several varieties to choose from. For example, they have the new Limited Ed. Adidas Halloween Superstar 2's [pictured above, left]. These are pretty sweet, featuring a clear sole with a view of a scary, Scream-like ghost face (killah). They also feature Halloween-orange stripes and heel tabs and black and orange laces with ghosts on them. Great for the kids. Next up, Nike has got a pair of Limited Ed. Glow-in-the-dark Dunk Hi-tops available to keep yourself or your kids safely visible this halloween [pictured above, middle]. And finally, Nike has a pair of Limited Ed. Halloween Blazer Hi-tops that are just plain sick [pictured above, right]. These black leather Blazers feature laser-engraved Halloween imagery, an embroidered skull on the tongue tag, an embossed rubber skull on the heel tab, and a silver skull lace stay. These are probably the coolest pair of Nike Blazers that I have ever seen, so they probably won't last long. Hey Pick Your Shoes, how about sending me a pair in size 12 for all of the free advertising that I am providing you? Come on, be a pal. (Not pictured are the ultra-ugly Limited Ed. Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Halloween kicks.)
